Step 3: Fee Application

The student concession card costs RM15 in total, which includes a RM5 card fee and an initial stored value of RM10. This amount must be paid by the student during registration. After receiving the card, you can top up anytime at all RapidKL stations (BRT, LRT, Monorail, MRT), as well as TNG SPOT counters and any Touch ‘n Go reload point.

To ensure smooth travel, students must keep at least RM5 balance in the card at all times. If the purse value drops below RM5, the system will not allow entry at the gate, so regular top-ups are recommended. This helps avoid delays and ensures the card remains active for daily commuting.

Step 4: Approval Timing

Student concession cards in Malaysia are available for full-time students through RapidKL and KTM. For RapidKL (MRT/LRT/Monorail/BRT), walk-in applications at concession counters are normally processed immediately, and the card is issued on the spot once documents are verified and the RM15 fee is paid. Students may apply and collect their card at major RapidKL centers such as Pasar Seni, KL Sentral, Putrajaya Sentral, Avenue K (KLCC),>Masjid Jamek, Subang Jaya, Wangsa Maju, and Kelana Jaya.

Final Step: Collection

For students applying, RapidKL typically requires >3–7 working days to review and approve the application. Applicants will be notified directly by RapidKL once the card is ready for collection at the designated counter.
